Delete your account
If you no longer wish to use ReadChinese, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from our system.
How to initiate deletion
Account deletion is handled directly within the mobile or web application to ensure your identity and data ownership.
Open the ReadChinese app or website and navigate to your Profile.
Scroll down to the Access and Security section.
Tap on Delete account.
A confirmation dialog will appear. To prevent accidental deletion, you must press and hold the delete button for 5 seconds to confirm.
What data is removed?
When you delete your account, we immediately purge the following from our production servers:
- Email address & profile info
- Reading progress & history
- Vocabulary & learned words
- Custom goals & preferences
This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Account progress cannot be restored after deletion.
Subscriptions
If you have an active premium subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, deleting your ReadChinese account does not automatically cancel those third-party recurring payments. Please manage your subscriptions through your device's store settings.
